Crossfield Road

London NW3

The project involved a single storey glazed infill extension to the rear of this garden flat in a Victorian terrace in London NW3, to form a Dining Room, as well as enlarging the opening to the rear of the existing solid half–width extension.

The resulting increase in space internally balanced the proportion of living space to sleeping space in this two bedroom, two bathroom flat, as well as giving a much needed dining space, where there was at present only a living room and kitchen.

The extension was entirely glazed, to contrast with the existing solid brick rear extension, to minimise the appearance of bulk to the rear, and so that the form of the original two storey ‘bay’ would still be visible.
