Shepherds Bush, London
This house had not been touched for 50 years and needed complete updating throughout. It was stripped back to bare brickwork, and indeed half of the back of the house was re–built. A loft extension and glazed “side return” extension with sliding folding doors were added, and the lower ground floor (which had previously been dark and damp) was completely opened up. The new kitchen dining room, down a dramatic galvanised steel staircase in the lower ground floor is light and spacious, with strong connections to the newly landscaped garden.
