This project was for the conversion of a disused, dilapidated barn in our clients’ garden in Buckland, in Worcestershire, into a self–contained guest house, retaining the original barn structure.

Located within a Conservation Area, near to a listed building and overlooking a graveyard, the site is in a highly sensitive location.

Our response to the brief was a contemporary approach to the barn conversion, incorporating large areas of glazing and vertical timber elements mirroring the surrounding woodland, and we also lowered the internal floor level to increase the head height.
